Dr. Robert Jaekel is a founding partner of the law firm Witthoff Jaekel Steinecke and works in close cooperation with ambidexIP at the location in cologne. He specializes in grant procedures and contentious proceedings before the German and European Patent Offices, as well as patent infringement cases before German courts, and has extensive experience in opposition and appeal procedures.

In addition to inventions in the classical areas of the life sciences and related fields of medicine, agricultural technology, and food research, he also handles inventions from more technical areas, such as medical technology, irrigation technology, and alternative energies, due to his affinity for technology. Furthermore, he is particularly dedicated to supporting startup companies and has developed the relevant program at our firm to offer young companies a more affordable way to secure their know-how.

He studied biology at the University of Cologne and wrote his diploma thesis at Artemis Pharmaceuticals GmbH, Cologne (now TaconicArtemis GmbH) and in the Immunology Department at the Institute of Genetics at the University of Cologne. He then earned his Ph.D. at the Institute of Genetics at the University of Cologne in the field of genetics. In addition to his in-depth knowledge in developmental and tumor genetics, molecular and cell biology, he also has experience in pharmacology, biochemistry, and immunology.
